I like how your letting the young guy do some work , I have a 16 yr old son and he's big into sports (football-basketball-track) and schooling he's a great kid overall , but I still get the teenage sigh when I teach him new stuff but he's coming along . you have a great family and I wish you guys the best .

Sounds like the Girlfriend of the stranded couple is the owner and likely sole insured driver of the car (though I could be wrong). They may be a new couple and he's unfamiliar with the car. I don't think the fact that he hadn't got them out of their spot by himself was a damning factor but nothing excuses not lending a hand to the good samaritan who happens by with the equipment, know how and attitude to get you out of your sticky situation. As a southerner I can truly say... I hate the climate, too. and the bugs. and the humidity... Everything you said was true.

I'm sure you're aware since you mentioned that it looked like the coyote was luring her over there, but coyotes are known to lure dogs into an ambush. Wether they act playful or try to get a dog to chase, they try to lead them to it's group where it's ambushed and likely killed.

Just my opinion of course. I've never seen just cause to kill perfectly healthy trees to stick them in your house a month. Fire mitigating is important and really the only valid justification I've heard. But, live trees for Christmas goes well beyond that. Again, just my opinion.

Years ago I helped an old lady out of the snowbank I had my Back against the trunk and my feet on a tree when she got traction she just took off leaving me sitting in the snow no thank you or nothing. Every time I see someone stuck the old lady pops back in my mind. I think she must have been scared or something. Oh I'd do it again matter a fact I have.

Cody I agree with you on that statement about the boyfriend. Last year I had several of thes in the ditches here in NM. It makes it interesting when the woman is willing to get dirty to help but the boy in doesn't want to. This past summer I got a call for a guy stuck in a field with a car buried in mud. He couldn't get out of the car I asked why? His response was I don't want to get my $200 shoes in the mud and I can't get the door open. I said what if wasn't here to help you what would you do? I don't know I haven't thought about it. He had no food or water in his car not even away to make a fire.

That was some mighty dangerous gun work at about 6 minutes in. Cody you should have put the sweet loaf in the van or taken up a position on the door with the window down. This way if she did run in front of you, you’d shoot right over her head. Telling a 3 yr old to stand behind you isn’t good enough. I came here after I saw your video describing this. There are definitely a lot of useless men out there. Our generation would try something even if we didn't know what we were doing. We would eventually figure it out. Too many beta males just want to sit back and let someone else do it for them. Usually the same beta males who criticize the ones who are competent in such matters. Calling them redneck, hillbilly, or any numerous politically hateful epithets. I am a hillbilly and now a southerner so I definitely notice it. And by the way, the south isn't so bad. I'm with you about the heat, humidity, and bugs but we are close to countryside, mountains, beaches, or big cities if you care to go to them.

I really enjoy watching the interaction with your family. Towing the guy out reminds me of pulling a guy out of a snow drift who was absolutely helpless. He was driving a Subaru. The guy was from Arkansas, wearing shorts (in one of our worst blizzards), the interstate was closed and he asked me what he should do after I pulled him out of a drift. My answer? Go into town (10 miles away) try to get a motel room, and when the blizzard subsided and roads were open, go back to Arkansas. I should have been kinder I guess.

This is what has happened to men in this world...Capri pants and man purses driving around in a Focus or a Prius. Men are in trouble in a big way. I have two shops full of every tool imaginable and when my city friends visit me out here in Wyoming, they don’t have a clue how to even fire up a chainsaw or use a damn impact driver, but when the good old boys from here come by they’re like a kid at Disneyland. These poor guys are going to have a hard way to go when things go sideways. Can’t start a fire, can’t fell a tree, can’t shoot a rifle, can’t back up a trailer, set up a tent, catch and gut a fish, quarter a deer, or fix a flat tire...entropy is inevitable and that second law of thermodynamics will eventually take down the grid. What are these men going to do at that point? It’s going to be ugly.
